Here is a behind the scenes look at a project I did for MTV:
My roots run deep with the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Over the years I have produced a wide variety of TV Programs and Segments all about the Outer Banks. If you like the Outer Banks you will like these videos:
This segment aired in an episode of Surfer Video Magazine on ESPN. I shot most of the footage and all of the interviews. Frontline Video and Film produced the series from 1987 to 1991.
This segment was produced for Hatteras Surf Feast and was a compilation of news and surf reports that aired on Beach TV during the late 80s. It has always been my goal to include news style information in all of my surfing segments. This makes for an educational and enjoyable piece.
Hurricane Earl paid a visit to Avalon Pier on Friday September 3rd, 2010. Some of his closest friends came out to see him.
There were over 100 spectators cheering on the brave crew of surfers riding this epic hurricane swell.
Classic Beach TV Footage featuring many of our favorite locals. Its cool to go back inside the Carolinian and the Atlantis.

North Carolina’s Outer Banks got great surf the week before Memorial Day. The local crew and some visiting pro’s “manhandle” a large 3 day swell. The surf was heavy and the wind stayed offshore for great conditions.
Check out the roots of Outer Banks Surfing with this look back to the surf scene its early days. Portions of this segment aired on ESPN’s “Hot Summer Nights” Programming in the 80’s.
This is a compilation of sessions and random encounters with some of my surfing friends. The footage spans from about 2001 to 2006.
North Carolina’s Outer Banks has legendary wind. These Kiteboarders are riding the same air that helped the Wright Brothers invent modern aviation. This area called Buxton Hole or Canadian Hole has an Eastern and Southern Shoreline.
The Flat Duo Jets played at Frat Parties when I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the 80s. They visited the famous Mex-Econo Bar of Kill Devil Hills, NC in 1988.
The footage comes from BEACH TV(1987-1991) and Hatteras Surf Feast(1991).
Mex-Econo served hot dog chimichangos, spam nachos, and Ice Cold Cervaso.
