I am now producing book trailers to help authors better identify their books. The premise is simple, we present highlights of the written word in a short inspirational video. This valuable tool lets consumers get an idea of the book without having to read anything.
Lets face it, time is our single largest commodity. Once it is spent you cannot get it back. The emergence of “E-Publishing” has been a renaissance for writers and has leveled the playing field between publishers and authors. As an author/writer you can promote and market your book through social media using a book trailer.
Our time is flooded with impressions and advertisements. Many of us spend time online and are inundated with posts on Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and the like. A book trailer can make you stand out from the clutter.
Once you get someone’s attention with your book trailer you must be sure to direct them to your personal website or blog. This is your turf and it must contain all the information about you, your writing and your publications.
Pay attention to how you post and where you post. Create your own video site on YouTube, Vimeo or on Facebook. Embed the book trailer on your blog or website and then post to social media from your website. That way the source code and digital bread crumbs will lead prospective customers back to your website.
