Kill Dozer was a 70’s film that I remember seeing with a similar story line. This always seemed far-fetched to me. That is until the fateful day I discovered A.I. imbedded in the very fabric of my life.
The Security Cameras that we were selling could identify objects in their field of view by the meta-data of the image. These objects can be searched and identified. The camera’s can store this information and make decisions. I quickly pulled up my google image library and searched the term couch.
Artificial Intelligence is Alive and Active
The mechanical process of making decisions has now been handed off to purpose built devices that speed up operations and eliminate error. Self Driving Cars, Always On Alerts, Data-Base Searches all leveraged to improve efficiencies in our daily lives.
The genie is out of the bottle folks. Open your eyes and minds to our new reality. As an advocate and user of technology this new and emerging field interests and excites me.
How much is too much? That is a human decision and should remain so. I plan on remaining at the top of the food chain. Do you know whom your friends are? Just take a look at the data imbedded in your phones, computers and networks. Opt in or test that Facial Recognition Algorithm 🙂
